Petcro (“we”, “us”) is a pet care guide and affiliate shop. This page explains what data we collect, why, and your rights over it. Short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and you can delete it any time.
What we collect
- Email address — only if you subscribe to our newsletter or save pet details. Used to send weekly tips and updates.
- Pet details you provide (species, age, name) — stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and, if you subscribe, attached to your email to personalise the tips we send.
- Questions you ask our assistant— processed to generate a helpful answer. We do not link questions to an identifiable person unless you're logged in (not yet available on web).
- Basic web analytics — page views and performance data (privacy-safe, no cookies). We do not track you across other sites.
What we don't collect
- No third-party advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking.
- No sale of your data to any third party. Ever.
- No location beyond country-level country for analytics.
Affiliate links
Petcro participates in affiliate programmes including Rakuten and CJ Affiliate. If you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. Affiliate clicks are tracked via the retailer, not by us.
Email & drip sequences
We use MailerLite to send email. When you subscribe, your email and any pet details you've shared are stored in MailerLite so we can send tailored weekly tips. Every email has an unsubscribe link — one click and you're out. We never share your email with other companies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Delete — ask us to remove your email and any associated data.
- Correct — ask us to update inaccurate data.
- Export — receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email us at the address below and we'll action it within 30 days.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Our analytics (Vercel Analytics) is cookie-free and privacy-safe by design. Your pet details are stored in your browser's localStorage, which is visible only to you on your own device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as our service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date at the top. If changes affect how we use your existing data, we'll email subscribers directly.
